“This was our 2nd visit to the Menger Cottages & 1st time stay in the Big Cottage. Our son & family lives about 8 miles away & this was the perfect accommodation to visit with them & still have our own privacy. This home is very cozy & has much history. During our 2-week stay, we had a Xmas reunion with our family. The outside patio area was perfect; it was 75 degrees & we had a fire going in the fire pit – plenty of room for 12 to 14 people to move around and enjoy visiting with each other. Our granddaughter made good friends with horses, Starbuck & Jack and they looked forward to their carrot snacks on her every visit! Home is conveniently located to get around San Antonio easily too. Thanks to Linda & Joe for their great hospitality & we look forward to staying here again next December!”

Alamo Heights home

We stayed in Linda’s Craftsman home in Alamo Heights. It was near many resources and activities. There was plenty of room for our family and Linda allowed me to bring my dogs. The backyard was beautiful and large. I look forward to staying there again in the spring or summer.

Exceeds expectations!

The pictures truly do not do this property justice! My husband and I, our son and his girlfriend and dogs spent a fabulous long weekend in this home on a first time visit to San Antonio. We were so impressed with how quickly and easily we were able to get to everything from the Alamo and Riverwalk to the Japanese Gardens and museum district to the refurbished Pearl area. But mostly we just wandered the gorgeous neighborhood or relaxed on the front porch or watched the dogs play in the huge back yard. We have been doing vacation rentals for years and this was the first one that had us all sitting around in the evening saying, “I could live here!” The owner was a joy to work with and left all kinds of helpful info and directions. Highly recommend!!

A Local’s Vacation

Great house! Beautiful. Loved historical family pics. Great location. Owner was very accommodating to our schedule. House stayed cool during hot summer month. Comfortable. Kitchen was well organized. Family room was well sized and dining area light and airy. Our personal favorites were sitting on the wide front porch during breezy evenings, our child scootering with a friend to local ice cream shop and our pet found many a cool spot to nap. Large back yard and ample parking behind gate was useful for loading and unloading packages. We are locals but felt like on vacation. We walked to pizza restaurant and Starbucks. Nice neighborhood with charming homes of various styles, quiet and tree lined to walk. Nearby restaurants, a top level grocery were convenient. Thank you Linda for sharing your home!

Perfect for getaway with my husband and dogs.

This was the perfect space for the 2 of us because we brought our 2 dogs. Big yard to walk the dogs around. Close enough to all the attractions. Right down the road from an excellent Mexican restaurant. The only down side was the shower has zero water pressure. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Setting

The cottage is surrounded by beautiful landscape and was wonderful for our stay. We brought our dogs and it was a perfect place to take them for walks. The cottage needed a bit more cleaning. There were some cobwebs in the shower and on the ceiling and walls but overall it was a fantastic little place. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in town.

Lovely country party!

Me and my new wife were visiting San Antonio to celebrate our recent nuptials with family there and we very please with the accommodations of the Carriage House for our stay as well as the brand new event space in a converted barn available on the property. After celebrating with ~25 of our close friends and family, it was perfect to have our own private cottage to retire to once the party was done. We’ve stayed with Menger Cottages in the past, and we continue to be pleased by the ever extending amenities of our stays that we look forward to doing it again and again.
